I've always wanted to do a little Dark Christmas type stuff. I don't know if I'd really call this art though, it's not like I made any of it personally, just brought these elements together.

This was also purely for fun. My tree this year is only about 30cm (12 inches) high, so this thing is WAAAY to big for it.

Clear glass sphere, red tinsel and lots of tiny skull beads.

Have A Very Scary Christmas everyone!

I love this. I have those beads and am always trying to find new uses for them. We've done a goth tree a few Christmases ago and this would be a nice addition when we do it again.

Heh I've bought a bunch of the empty glass ornaments in order to make a whole lot of gothic ornaments throughout the year, can't wait to keep going with it all :p

And then... giant black tree!

Yeah we had a white tree. They were cheaper. And I figured if we got a black tree, the ornaments would blend more. But with the white, all the red and black ornaments stood out. MY family loved our tree(sarcastic tone).

Bah, do what you want. It's your tree in your house and you're the one that has to live with it. And isn't Xmas about acceptance and stuff? And cool goth trees?

Apart from that, Xmas has become such an empty holiday for me, and that is part of the reason I started doing this dark Xmas stuff... to try and bring back some of my joy in the holiday. If that means splattering the tree in fake blood and hanging spiders and goth ornaments off it, so be it. Better than seeing it merely as a chance to get drunk in order to deal with excessive family hostility.

Do what you enjoy I say!

I definitely agree. I hate feeling obligated to do what you're supposed to do at Christmas- go to 4 different people's houses and decorate a certain way and dress up to go eat. If I don't do all that, I get flack for it. More so from my husband's family than mine but they all annoy the crap out of me with it. 2 years ago, my husband and I decided to do Christmas just us. We decorated our tree all dark and goth, we didn't go anywhere or see anyone all day, and lounged in our jammies and movie watched. It was honestly the best Christmas I've ever had. Our families were so pissed at us but we just really didn't care.
