I went camping for the first time this weekend. I've not been feeling very arty of late, but was inspired to do some stuff that I would leave in the bush to become part of the landscape. I made this fairly large sculpture to leave inside the hollow of a large tree at the campsite. I am very much hoping that it gets left alone, and no drunken dickhead messes with it. We're going camping there again in a few months so shall report back then.

It was somewhat inspired by the creatures in Tool filmclips. Made entirely with sticks and twigs from the campsite and surrounding forest, and natural hemp twine.

This pic was taken during the day. I like this one, though I have some cool night shots too-

And here's a sample of my other stuff... shameless self-promotion is a good thing!

Dark Tree Creature by =dischordiasnightmare When the creative mood strikes, a true artist can create unique art just about anywhere. Check out this sculpt made from nothing more than sticks, twigs and hemp twine -- with a little fern loincloth for modesty's sake! ( Featured by `LabyrinthCreations )

very cool ..I once visualised a creature very much like this ...the only difference really was that it was also somewhat fleshed out with cobwebs

Thats kind of what I'm hoping will happen to it. Spiderwebs in the 'ribs' and head. Stuff like that :)

Ooh interesting! It reminds me of some kind of native american relic or something. It's hard for me to describe. Something ancient I guess! lol very nice, I hope it's still there when you go back!
