Dreams of Icarus

I made these for an art comp where I lost to a piece of paper that had pinholes in it (Well kinda, I was going to make them anyway, but who wouldn't want to win an extra $500 if possible?). That was the day I decided that I officially do not understand art. It took me ages to make, much blood was spilled in the process. It's mostly hand-beaten copper, the coloured 'feathers' in the middle are titanium, unfortunately the colours faded when i put the sealer on but they're still there, just more subtle. They can also be worn but I think it would be somewhat lethal, the feathers are pretty sharp.

It was kind of a cross between Egyptian wings, and all the crazy ideas that must have gone through the mind of Icarus when he was designing his wings.
